Alaska Vacation | Vancouver

Alaska Vacation | Vancouver

Lucy’s parent were catching a plane later in the day after getting off the boat. They decided to join us at our hotel. Lucy and I usually travel light while her parents usually travel heavy. Since we were staying in the area we planned to take public transport to our hotel instead of the expensive cruise shuttle. This is where things would start to go wrong for Lucy’s parents. Our Vancouver | Itinerary   Day One   Public transport Sheraton…

Alaska Vacation | Alaska Cruise

Alaska / Day One To get to our cruiseship we booked a tour from Anchorage to Whittier Alaska. This tour would make scenic stops along the road and allow us to visit an animal preserve. We stopped at the wood carving shop of a world renowned wood carver. All the artwork is amazingly impressive and expensive to buy. We stopped at many beautiful scenic sites but the highlight of the day happened at the animal reserve.   Our Alaskan | Itinerary…

Alaska Vacation | San Francisco

Alaska Vacation | San Francisco

So It Begins in SF… The budget rent a car in San Francisco could not be any slower. I am not 100% sure what people do in line for an hour before getting to the counter but it definitely isn’t get there crap together to make the process easy at the counter. My favorite part though was the managers that would hover behind the counter back and forth making sure the level of misery for everyone was being maintained. Our…

Long Road Ahead… This would be one of our longer trips and one of our more memorable trips as we planned to surprise Lucy’s parents on the cruise. The plan was to take a 7 day Alaskan cruise from Whittier-Alaska to Vancouver-Canada. We found a convenient connecting flight that would allow us to spend three days in San Francisco. The trip started poorly as our flight was cancelled because the plane had mechanical issues and we had to scramble to…

Our Haunted House

Our Haunted House

This has been a bit of a tradition. We all do enjoy halloween and after visiting all the attractions in the area we usually head over to a friends house to run a haunted house. This section is a lessons learned and how the haunted house has progressed over the years. Initially we were young and enthusiastic and wanted to go all out. Costumes are extremely valuable until November 1st, then they can be found relatively cheap. Over the years…

Universal Studios Horror Night

Universal Studios Horror Night

Universal Horror Night This being a movie studio we had high hopes that the production value and presentation would be top notch. You are not allowed to dress up or wear any type of costume. You are also not allowed to bring any food or drink. We made sure to bring an empty container though to fill with water in the park as I was expecting to wait in long lines. Overall, a great event and worth the admission. If…

Queen Mary Dark Harbor

Queen Mary Dark Harbor

Queen Mary Dark Harbor Parking can be expensive and is limited here. You can pay $20 for on site parking or you can pay $16 dollars and park near the aquarium and take a free aquabus to and from the Queen Mary. We took the aquabus because it offered a free cruise of the harbor at night. We got to see the coastline lit up at night and even got to see the moon rise on this particular night. You…

Disneyland Halloween Party

Disneyland Halloween Party

No-one is ever going to claim this is the kind of event that is going to give you a heart attack or scare you senseless. Instead this is a family event that is appropriately decorated with Disney villains. One big plus is that you are able to dress up as long as you don’t cover your face or bring anything that could be used as a weapon(sticks, props, or replicas). Again these events are more fun in a group so…

Five nights and five fright’s in this trip. We decided to take a trip to Los Angeles to do a couple of the Halloween mazes in the area and run a haunted house at a friend’s place. We then experience Halloween Hollywood style by visiting a movie studio and finish the trip by trying to scare some local families. Our Spooky | Itinerary…

Los Angeles | Five Day Trip

Los Angeles | Five Day Trip

DAY ONE / South Bay Harbor We flew into Long Beach airport to spend five weekdays in the city. Since we landed in Long Beach we decided to spend the day in the South Bay. We headed to the Long Beach aquarium, which is one of best aquariums we have ever been to. When you first walk in there is a large 20ft tank filled with colorful and large fishes. The aquarium is so large and has everything you would expect….
